The online translation service provided by us, Woking Borough Council, uses Google's online translation service. This is a machine based translation service; the translation is not carried out by a professional translator.

The translation displayed will be of the most common use of a word and it will not take into account the context in which the word is used which may consequently alter its meaning.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or sense of any given translation and it does not accept any liability for any loss you may incur as a result of relying on the results of any translation carried out using this translation service.

Issues we know about

Google Translate will not work on every area of the site and so the following features are not translated:

• embedded content such as maps and social media posts
• downloadable documents and files
• dynamically generated content such as PDFs for publication pages
• some functions with JavaScript triggers, such as cookie and information banners
• separate and external sites such as Woking 2027

Other issues to be aware of

Left to right translation does not work in some places.

When using search, your input currently needs to be in English (although results will be translated). Filtering on searches will also only work if the input is in English.

Webforms are translated, but we recommend submissions should be in English, unless otherwise indicated.
