If you plan to appeal or have submitted an appeal, you must still pay your business rates until a decision is made by the VOA.
You can use an independent rating adviser to help challenge your rateable values.
Ratepayers do not have to be represented in discussions about their rateable value or their rates bill.
If you plan to get independent help, it is recommended that you use members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – RICS and the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation – IRRV.
