You can search for, track and comment on current and past planning applications on the planning register.

The planning register holds all:

  • current and past applications
  • appeals against applications
  • enforcements against applications

How to find an application and make a comment

To make a comment against a planning application, find the application in the planning register and go to the comments section. To add a comment you will need to log in or register for a new account.

Search the planning register and make a comment

Neighbours are given 21 days to comment on the application. Comments may still be accepted after 21 days if the application is still under consideration.

Before you begin searching the database, read our copyright notice. By accessing the database, you have confirmed your agreement:

Plans, drawings and material submitted to the council are protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use material that is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. You must not make further copies without first getting permission from the copyright owner.

What to include in your comment

You must include:

  • whether you support, object to or are neutral on the application
  • the grounds on which you're commenting
  • a comment

Comments cannot be treated as confidential because they are published on our website. However we will remove personal details such as:

  • telephone numbers
  • email addresses
  • signatures

After you submit a comment

We consider all valid comments when we make a decision on a planning application. Any comments that are offensive or abusive are ignored.

To find out the outcome of an application, you can check the planning register after the decision has been made on the application.
