Reviews and appeals – gambling premises licence

How to request a review of a gambling premises licence and how to appeal a decision.

Reviews

A ‘responsible authority’ or an ‘interested party’ may apply to us for a review of a gambling premises licence.

Email: licensing@woking.gov.uk

For more on who is a responsible authority and who is an interested party, go to comments and objections – gambling premises licences.

We can also start a review of a gambling premises licence without the need for representations. We will conduct a review if we suspect that:

  • the licence conditions are not being complied with
  • for other reasons where we believe a review is appropriate

Licence reviews are posted on licence applications and reviews.

Appeals

You can appeal to a magistrates' court, within 21 days of the relevant decision.

Those with the right to appeal are:

  • the applicant who has submitted the gambling premises licence application
  • anyone who made representations in relation to the application

When a review has taken place anyone who made representations in relation to the review have the right to appeal against the action taken as a result of the review.
