Documents checklist
Before you apply, check you have all the required documents.
You must submit:
Check your DBS certificate status
You will need to complete a new Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check with every 3-year renewal.
Request a basic DBS check – GOV.UK
The DBS check is usually the longest part of the application progress. The DBS often take a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks to process applications.
Certificates are valid for 3 months from date of issue.
DBS Update Service
If you have an account with the DBS Update Service – GOV.UK, you must provide a copy of the enhanced certificate linked to your online DBS account.
We will only accept a certificate where the position applied for must state 'Other workforce - taxi driver'.
If you use the DBS Update Service, you can also complete our consent form, giving us permission to check your records with the DBS.

Check your medical report status
Medical reports are valid for 5 years. If you are over 60 years old, you must have a yearly medical examination. Ask your doctor (GP) to complete a medical examination form for you.
