Street naming and numbering

We are responsible for allocating street names and numbers to properties and new developments in Woking.

Our street naming and numbering policy gives full details of what you can apply for and how we process your application.

Fees for registering new properties and developments

The fees for new developments, infills and conversions are:

• flat rate for 1 plot: £420
• for an additional plot (2 to 9 plots): £64.80 per plot
• for an additional plot (10 to 24 plots): £57.60 per plot
• for an additional plot (25 to 49 plots): £50.40 per plot
• for an additional plot (50 or more plots): £36 per plot

For example, if a development has 25 new plots, the charge would be:

• £420 flat rate for first plot
• plus £518.40 (8 multiplied by £64.80)
• plus £864 (15 multiplied by £57.60)
• plus £50.40 (1 multiplied by £50.40)
• a total fee of £1,852.80

Fees for new street and property or building name changes

The fees for :

• a new street: £600
• changing the name of a property or building: £100.80

• street name change: £777.60
• fee per plot within the street: £93.60
• amendments after confirmation and changes to build: £57.60 (fee per plot, includes renumbering and renaming a building)
• confirmation of addressing: £60 (fee per letter, per application)
• duplication letter or address schedule: £50.40 (fee per schedule copy)

Additional fees

Additional fees include:

• meetings and site visits: first hour is £86.40, additional half hour is £28.80 (example: 2 hours = £120)
• address data matching and historical research: first hour is £96, additional half hour is £36 (example: 2 hours = £140)
• penalty for retrospective engagement (where project is substantially complete): £216

This is in addition to any other addressing charges.
