Problems paying your Council Tax

If you're having problems paying your monthly Council Tax instalments, you could:

• apply to pay over 12 months instead of the standard 10 months
• see if you qualify for a Council Tax discount or exemption
• apply for Council Tax Support if you're on a low income or claim Universal Credit
• apply for a repayment arrangement

If you do not pay and do nothing

If you do not pay your Council Tax on time, we will send you a reminder and final notice. We may also start legal proceedings which could add extra costs to the amount you owe us.
