Final and arrangement default notices for unpaid Council Tax

If you receive a final notice

We send a final notice if you: 

  • miss 2 payment instalments within the same Council Tax billing year
  • have an unpaid debt for a previous billing year

You have lost the right to pay by monthly instalments and you must pay the full amount within 7 days.

If you receive an arrangement default notice

This is sent if you have a repayment arrangement with us and you miss 2 payment instalments.

You must pay the full amount immediately or your account will be moved to the next recovery stage.
