If you have started or completed building works without getting building regulations approval, you must apply for a regularisation certificate.
Before completing the form, we advise that you speak to the building control surveyor who is allocated to the location of your property. They can help determine the scope of works.
If the works do not meet the standards, you might have to correct the work or pay a fine.

When inspecting your building work, we usually need to exposure certain elements of your building work. This can include removing plasterboard and exposing foundations, to show the minimum standards of building regulations have been met.
We may also need to see structural calculations and other certification for works, such as gas and electrical certificates.
If you cannot provide this information, we will not issue a certificate.
