How to apply for a temporary event notice, what information you need to provide and details of any fines and penalties that apply if you do not have a TEN or provide false information.
You can only apply for a TEN as an individual, not an organisation.
You can apply for multiple temporary events, but each event must go on a separate application form.
You must apply at least 10 clear working days before your event. Clear working days do not include the day we receive your application or the day of the event.
Type of application | Fee |
---|---|
Temporary event notice | £21 |
Theft or loss of temporary event notice | £10.50 |
Please note that the fee for a TEN application is non refundable in all circumstances, as the fee is to cover administration costs for processing the notice.
By law, a copy of your application must be sent to the police and environmental health officers. We will do this on your behalf.
They may object to your application, based on any of the 4 licensing objectives. They have 3 working days to object, from the day they receive the TEN.
They may prevent the event from taking place or agree, provided the arrangements are modified.
You could be fined if make any false statements in your application, or face prosecution if you breach the terms of the notice.
You can be fined, send to prison for up to 6 months, or both if you do not have a TEN and carry out an activity that you should have a licence for. This also applies if you allow your premises to be used for an unlicensed activity.
