How to apply for a taxi or private hire vehicle licence
How to apply for a taxi of private hire vehicle licence, including evidence you must submit.
To apply for a new vehicle licence, you need to submit:
- your V5 vehicle registration document or proof of purchase
- a valid MOT certificate, if applicable – please provide proof of any fixed advisories
- your vehicle insurance certificate
- your vehicle inspection document, under 2 weeks old
- a vehicle licence application form
Application fees
To complete your application, you will need to:
- pass your vehicle inspection
- pay your vehicle licence fee
