Renewals, including when to renew and evidence to submit.
A vehicle licence is valid for 12 months. You must renew it before it expires.
Make sure you send us your renewal application at least 10 working days before the licence expiry date. We need time to process it and carry out the relevant checks.
Any renewal applications received after the date of expiry will be processed as a new vehicle application.
We will send you a reminder letter and application form about 2 months before your licence renewal date.

When you renew your vehicle licence, you will have to present the vehicle inspection certificate that you received from your most recent 6-monthly inspection, plus a current valid inspection.
Failure to present these inspection certificates may delay your renewal and mean that you have to pay higher charges.
